STORYTELLING: THE COLOUR MONSTER. Primary Years 1 and 2

Hello everybody!!

On Thursday 18th and Friday 19th February, Primary Years 1 and 2 children attended a Storytelling session by Begoña del Río, Xurde's and Deva's mummy, who came to school to tell the story of

THE COLOUR MONSTER

It is a beautiful story about feelings, and it helps children identify how they are feeling:

Colours  - Feelings:
  • YELLOW - HAPPY
  • BLUE - SAD
  • RED - ANGRY
  • BLACK - SCARED
  • GREEN - CALM
  • PINK - IN LOVE

In teams, they had to draw a situation that makes them feel that way.
Then, they made a craft of a MONSTER to take home and place in their bedroom.

Thanks very much Begoña for this fantastic session :-)

Saint Valentine's Day :)

Today we were working about feelings at school as a conmemoration of Saint Valentine's Day.

We decorated hearts with special messages for our family, friends, teachers and classmates.

It was a great moment to show off our feelings and to tell people that we love them.

INFANTS 5: 3 little pigs

Hello!!

Unit 4 is about the HOUSE, and children are learning new vocabulary: bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen, and also the parts of the house: roof, door, window, walls, floor.

I told the story of the 3 LITTLE PIGS and it was very fun!
Then, we played the boardgame of the 3 little pigs.
The group was divided into 3 teams. Each team was a pig:
  • The big Pig made a house of bricks
  • The medium Pig made a house of wood
  • The small Pig made a house of straw

Children had to move their pig on the boardgame using a dice and build their house:
Sometimes they got a window, a chimney or a door. Oncve it was complete, they were ready to get to the end of the game.

They loved the game and we spoke in English all the time.

Thank you and good bye!!

Primary Year 1: TOYS

Hello,
Children are learning vocabulary about toys, and we have done a role-play in class:
1.First of all, they brought some magazines with toys and they had to work in groups to find examples of each toy: skateboard, scooter, bike, book, doll, ball, board games....
2. Then, we practised a simple role-play in class with greetings and a short conversation in English.
3. In groups, they had to go to the TOY SHOP to buy their favourite toy and speak in English.

Primary Year 2: STORY: Winnie's house

Hello!

Children in Primary Year 2 are reading this story:
WINNIE THE WITCH and HER CAT, WILBUR.
It is a funny story, look and listen!!
(You can read it during the second part of the video too! and in your notebook!)
It is very useful to practise: parts of the house, colours, prepositions, feelings...)
Enjoy!
